Acupuncture is an age-old modality that uses hair-like, solid, stainless-steel, disposable needles that are inserted into specific points in the body. These points are neural nodes which stimulate the central and peripheral nervous systems to treat chronic and acute pain, musculoskeletal issues, digestive disorders and other chronic ailments. Acupuncture elicits the body’s innate healing ability to ease pain, promote circulation and guide the body back to homeostasis.
Although the effects of acupuncture tend to be cumulative, the number of visits to adequately treat a particular ailment will vary depending on: the length of time you’ve had the problem; the severity of the ailment; and your body’s response to the initial 3 or 4 visits.

Acupuncture offers a time-tested, very reliable modality for acute & chronic pain relief. Additionally, the World Heath Organization recognized acupuncture to be an effective treatment for several disorders and health issues. Their 2003 study lists the following:
